Bible Verses for Him:

Historically,  men have been inundated with pressure to provide, to be strong all while never showing emotion or needs of any kind. But in reality that just isn’t real, men have needs just as much as women do. Their fears are real, just as their insecurities are.

Presently, as a wife I sometimes forget this. Acting as the sole provider for our household my husband needed to secure an alternate  job that would allow me to stay at home with the children. This choice wasn’t without sacrifice, he left a job in which he had invested ten years, working his way up from the bottom. This endeavor was carried out during the pandemic. After countless zoom calls, interviews, and technological tasks, he was offered a job. Praise God!

Naturally, the new job is stretching him in new ways, and placing significant demands on his time. Sometimes I feel helpless when I can’t help him work through a task. Try as I might to give him space to work. Somehow the house is never quite big enough with two toddlers running around at full speed. As for quiet, that feat has yet to be accomplished.    But there is something else  I can do… I can pray scripture over him as he works.  May you be blessed in this venture as you pray for your husband from head to toe.

Ambition :

Philippians 2:3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves when first embarking upon life as a new parent, life feels unpredictable, chaotic even.

Humility :

Proverbs 11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

Discernment:

Proverbs 15:4 The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.

Strength :

Psalms 28:7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy,  and with my song I praise him.

Purity::

1 Timothy 4:12 12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

Joy:

John 15:11  I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

Contentment :

1 Timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

Mind:

Colossians 3:2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Gentleness :

Philippians 4:5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.

Fellowship:

1 Corinthians 1:9  God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Marriage:

Ephesians 4:2-3 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

I love this book by Stormie Omartian entitled The Power of a Praying Wife.   The book features specific, daily prayers that you can pray for your husband. From finances to spiritual integrity this is an intentional book of prayer to work through.
