11 Verses for Mama:

Motherhood is full of blessings yet it is not without its challenges. I often refer to the vast difference as bee stings and honey, and you can’t have the sweetness of life without some of the pain. Naturally, being a mother is one of the biggest blessings bestowed upon women by God himself.

Undoubtedly, there are days that are full slam dunks, nothing but net. Everyone is in a good mood and everything goes according to plan and the house smells like a Secret Garden brimming with gorgeous blooms. Contrary to blissful days, there are days that seem to overflow and pulse with an overwhelming intensity that arose with the sun, rims and bricks all the way baby.

Despite your best efforts these are the times that strip you of all energy and keep you on your tippy toes trying to catch up… with everything. Behaviors are uncharted, the house affords a chaotic whirlwind of the days tone. You try not to yell, you try not to cry, and you most certainly keep throwing that ball towards the backboard over and over again. Why? Because you are mama, and it just isn’t in your nature to quit even though you feel as if you may combust with sheer exhaustion.

The Bible is Self Care:

Without a doubt, I have always been a proponent of self care whether it’s building a charcuterie board, or polishing my nails, I prioritize a little something every single day. If I am a good steward of myself then I can be a better steward to those around me. But when those small things only address the surface, it is time to revive on  a soul deep level.

First and Foremost in this practice you are turning down the noise of the overflowing laundry basket, the sizzle of dinner on the stove, and the demands that are always there. As well as your thoughts which allows you to bask in the quiet only He can give. Here are 11 bible verses to revive and strengthen your mamas’ heart.

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Psalms 29:11:

The Lord gives strength to his people;  the Lord blesses his people with peace.

What He needs is you in all your forms from energized to depleted, His love is big enough to cover it all.  For more in depth study try  Risen  Motherhood: Gospel Hope for Everyday Moments by Emily Jensen and Laura Wifler
