After learning about David and Goliath we get to learn more about David through the Psalms. While he was waiting to serve got he was an obedient shepherd and he also had a heart for worshiping God. Clearly the Psalms are evident of that very fact, each one reflects a deep love  and reverence for God himself.

The Lesson Psalms 100:

Please share the following with your children:

Psalms 100  at it appears in the  Jesus Calling Storybook Bible pages pages 104-105

Essentially as David writes a Psalm he is writing a love letter to God. Importantly, to share here that we have full access to God with our words and worship. Furthermore, God wants to here our songs and words of praise. Worship is an obedient part of living for God.

We have a picture of a shepherd leaning over a cliff to reach one little lost lamb hanging in our living room. Importantly, it  is such a beautiful picture of how a shepherd protects and knows his sheep. Interestingly, sheep get to know the voice of their shepherd and will only move when they hear his specific voice.

God Uses an Underdog:

Moreover, both  God and David did everything they could to protect their sheep. Jesus died on the cross for His sheep, and David put his life on the line for his sheep many times in the field. Along with being a simple shepherd David would go on to great things because he heeded the call of His shepherd. Once again we see God using an underdog to bring glory to His name.

Psalms 100 Discussion Questions:
