    Finding the Joy in Marriage

Affiliate Disclosure: Website: This post contains affiliate links. Finding the Real Joy in Marriage Truth be told, this is my first blog post around marriage. Though seven years in, I just didn’t feel seasoned or nearly wise enough to share my opinion on such a vitally important topic.  However, that is until I learned something from a friend that shifted my perspective in such a colossally Goliath kind of way that it was just too profound not to share. Upon hearing this revelation it was as if the rug was pulled out from underneath my feet, as every single channel in my brain  was bursting like lightbulbs in Tesla’s laboratory.…

10 Confessions of a Stay at Home Mom

Affiliate Disclosure: Website: This post contains affiliate links. Ever folded three loads of laundry only to witness the meticulously folded threads flying through the air?  If you answered yes , then you may be a stay at home mama. You have seen it the laundry begins to resemble tissue paper being hastily removed from a gift bag, by eager little fingers. Somehow toddlers have penchants for undoing what has been newly done. In fact my velvet pink throw pillows spend more time being trampled on the floor than they do beautifying my coach.  It will take gorilla glue to keep those things in their  respective place. The Stay at Home…

    How to Practice Gratitude Everyday

There is Always a Harvest:     Lately, Jesus has been trying to cultivate a spirit of gratefulness in me, specifically using produce to do so. My husband has a talent for growing an abundance of fruits and vegetables. He has magically transformed our backyard into a mini farm, in which our children are constantly given lessons in horticulture. Many times I have sent them out squeaky clean only to have them return within the hour covered in dirt. They return yielding peppers, tomatoes and zucchinis twice their size. And every time I am amazed by the harvest, surprised, even. Gratefulness is a Daily Thing: Furthermore , here is where the…

Prayer Room Aren’t Magic: Prayer for me always occurred while driving or when a few spare moments presented themselves in the course of a day. It wasn’t until I saw the movie War Room that my attitude and approach to prayer changed all together. The very clear message of the film was that prayer is one of the biggest, untapped sources of power that Christians have…

    Nana Ree’s Butterfly

Ten years ago my mum was taken from us after fighting a three year battle with an aggressive, traveling cancer. My mum, though small in stature, was a mighty warrior, a picture of grace and a lover of the unseen people. She loved with her entire heart and soul. Naturally, her passing stripped my siblings and I of her constant love which we  depended on heavily. Especially since she was a single parent. In God’s kindness he reassured us that though she wasn’t here physically she would always be close by in spirit. My siblings and I live in four different locations and on four different occasions we saw the…

Why I Choose to Shop at Thrift Stores

Growing up we didn’t have a lot of money since, mum was a single parent of four children. She worked two jobs Monday through Saturday 6:00am-8:00pm . On Sundays she worked in the nursery for both the morning and evening services. As a child this was the norm but as an adult I realize how much of herself she sacrificed,  in order to be our provider. My mum had to be smart with the income she acquired. Consequently, that meant that we shopped at the local thrift stores, recycled items, held yard sales and cut coupons religiously. She made it abundantly clear that our value was not based on the clothes…
